How to Replace an Air Conditioning Compressor?

Disconnect the negative battery cable and raise the front of the vehicle. Remove the fasteners securing the air conditioning lines to the compressor and detach the refrigerant lines. Plug all open fittings to prevent dirt and moisture entry. Remove the compressor mounting fasteners and lower the compressor. If installing a new compressor, pour out the oil from the old compressor and add that amount of new refrigerant oil.
