Start by selecting Park or engaging the parking brake or chocking the drive wheels and immobilizing the ignition by removing the leads from the ignition coils and removing spark plugs. Third, one should take out the upper intake manifold and the valve cover(s). Turn the engine with a socket and ratchet that is fitted at the crankshaft pulley bolt until a specific cam lobe of the rocker arm to be removed is situated at its base circle with an anti-clock wise turning of the crankshaft. In case of removal of rocker arms and lash adjusters, it is very important to label and place them where they can easily be fixed back into place.
