Dodge Charger Brake Proportioning Valve Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Remove a Junction Block from a Dodge Charger?
A: Vehicle models equipped with an Anti-lock brake system (ABS) do not have a proportioning valve or junction block. To remove the junction block, start by disconnecting the cable(s) from the negative battery terminal(s). Then, use a suitable tool to depress and hold the brake pedal down by 1 inch to minimize fluid loss. Locate the junction block in the right front portion of the engine compartment, which is a solid looking aluminum part with several hydraulic brake lines attached to it. Disconnect all line fittings to the junction block using a flare-nut wrench. Pull the junction block up to remove it from the mounting grommets. For installation, reverse the removal steps, ensuring all line fittings are tightened securely. Finally, bleed the brake system and test the operation of the brakes before putting the vehicle into normal service.
