If necessary, the shackle can be removed from the leaf spring. To install the leaf spring, start by installing the rear shackle to the spring (if removed) but leave the fasteners finger tight. Position the spring on the axle tube, ensuring it is centered correctly. Line up the eye at the front of the spring with the mounting bracket and install the mounting fasteners, leaving them finger tight. Install the rear shackle to the frame and leave the fasteners finger tight. Install the U-bolts and spring plate, tightening the nuts to the specified torque.
