  • Q: How to remove and replace the front control arm on Dodge Daytona?
    A: Raise the front of the vehicle, support it securely and remove the front wheels. Detach the sway bar. Remove the through-bolt and nut from the control arm pivot. Remove the rear stub strut nut retainer and bushing. Remove the balljoint clamp bolt and nut from the steering knuckle. Disconnect the balljoint stud from the steering knuckle, taking care not to separate the inner CV joint. Remove the sway bar nuts, separate the control arm and remove it from the vehicle. Remove the rear stub strut bushing and sleeve assembly. Inspect the lower control arm for distortion and the bushings for wear, damage and deterioration. Replace a damaged or bent control arm with a new one. If the inner pivot bushing or the balljoint are worn, take the control arm assembly to a dealer service department or a repair shop, as special tools are required to replace them. The strut bushings can be replaced by sliding them off the strut. Assemble the retainer, bushing and sleeve on the stub strut. Place the control arm in position over the sway bar and attach the stub strut and front pivot to the crossmember. Install the front pivot bolt and stub strut assembly in the cross-member, with the nuts finger tight. Attach the balljoint stud to the steering knuckle and tighten the clamp bolt to the specified torque. Attach the sway bar end to the control arm and tighten the clamp to the specified torque. Install the wheels and lower the vehicle. With the vehicle weight lowered onto the suspension, tighten the front pivot bolt and stub strut nuts to the specified torque.
