Q: How to Remove and Install the Intake Air Temperature Sensor on Dodge Nitro?
A: The intake manifold temperature sensor is a thermistor that changes resistance with temperature. On 2.4L four-cylinder engines, it is located on the rear lower part of the intake manifold. For 2007 and earlier Liberty models, disconnect the electrical connector and remove the sensor mounting bolts to remove it. For Nitro and 2008 and later Liberty models, it is installed into the rubber air intake tube near the throttle body or beginning of the air filter housing. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the sensor by turning it counterclockwise and pulling it out. Installation is the reverse of removal.
