To replace the windshield wiper motor, first disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Next, remove the wiper arm retaining nuts to detach each windshield wiper arm from its shaft, ensuring to mark the relationship of the wiper arms to their shafts before removal. After that, remove the cowl cover and disconnect the electrical connector from the windshield wiper motor by pushing the slide lock to the right, depressing the release tab, and pulling off the connector. Detach the bushing of the right wiper drive link from the ballstud by carefully prying them apart with a trim removal tool or a screwdriver, and do the same for the sleeve bushing of the left wiper drive link. Remove the crank arm retaining nut from the windshield wiper motor shaft, making alignment marks on the arm and shaft for correct installation later, then remove the windshield wiper motor mounting bolts and take out the motor from the mounting bracket. For the rear wiper motor, start by disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal, then carefully pry off the trim cap from the rear wiper arm and remove the retaining nut. Mark the relationship of the wiper arm to the wiper motor shaft, release the spring tension by hinging the wiper arm toward you, and remove it from the motor shaft. Next, remove the rear liftgate trim panel, disconnect the electrical connector from the rear wiper motor, remove the mounting fasteners, and detach the motor from the liftgate. Installation for both motors is the reverse of removal.
