Jeep Patriot Battery Tray Parts Questions & Answers
Q: How to Install a Battery Tray and Car Batteries?
A: Install a memory saver device to avoid reprogramming several of the vehicle's systems. Remove the air filter housing fresh air duct by rotating the retaining clips and taking out the duct. Disconnect the negative Battery Cable, followed by the positive cable, from the battery. Unscrew the bolt and remove the hold-down clamp from the bottom edge of the battery. Lift out the battery using special battery removal tools available at auto parts stores for easier handling. Installation involves connecting the positive cable first, followed by the negative cable. If equipped, transfer the battery insulator to the new battery when replacing. For the battery tray, remove the battery, followed by the tray liner if one exists. Finally, remove the battery tray fasteners and lift the tray out. Installation follows the reverse order of removal.
