Check wiper blades regularly for cracks and deterioration. Clean them with a mild detergent to remove road film. Also, check and tighten the wiper arm retaining nuts. To do this, remove the cap and check the mounting nut. Lift the blade, press the release lever and slide the blade assembly out. Depress the lever, slide the wiper element out and rest the arm on the windshield. The rubber element is secured to the blade assembly at one end. Compress the locking feature to clear the tangs and slide the element out. Reinstall in reverse order, ensuring secure attachment.

If the wiper blade elements are cracked, worn, or warped, they should be replaced with new ones.

Bolts, nuts, and fasteners should be checked and tightened, as necessary, at the same time the wiper blades are checked.
