To see if the brake pedal works well, press it many times when the car engine is off and when it is on. It should go down a little bit once the engine starts, which is normal. For air tightness, press the pedal after running the engine for a minute. The booster is air tight if the pedal goes up after second or third depressions. It's sealed if there is no change in pedal travel for 30 seconds with the engine off. Never dismantle the power brake booster, replace it when defective. Unplug the vacuum hose and remove the brake master cylinder to take out. Disconnect the pushrod from the pedal pin located under the dash. Take booster from firewall off. Reinstall by greasing the brake pedal pin and push-rod, lubricate onto booster. Adjust the brake light switch.
