    Q:
How Do You Disconnect the Accelerator Cable on Chrysler Town & Country? Posted by Customer
    A:
Rotate the throttle linkage cam to a wide-open position and disengage the accelerator cable from the slot. Squeeze the retaining ears and disengage from the cable bracket and reach up behind the accelerator pedal and disengage the retainer. Remove the horseshoe-shaped retainer clip and work the cable grommet out of the hole. Pull out the cable from the engine compartment side of the firewall. Installation is the reverse of removal steps.

    Q:
How to Remove the Accelerator Cable on a Dodge Grand Caravan? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the accelerator cable, start by detaching the cable end from the accelerator pedal shaft and pulling it through the firewall. In the engine compartment, remove the retainer clip and separate the cable from the pin or stud on the throttle lever. Detach the cable from the mounting bracket and remove it from the engine compartment. For 3.0L, 3.3L, and 3.8L V6 engines, disconnect the cable from the pedal shaft and firewall. Pull the cable housing end fitting out of the dash panel grommet and remove the retainer. Disconnect the accelerator cable and cruise control cable (if equipped) from the throttle body and compress the end fitting tabs. To reinstall, follow the reverse steps.

    Q:
How do you adjust the throttle pressure cable or rod to improve shift quality and speed on Dodge Grand Caravan? Posted by Customer
    A:
The throttle cable for four-cylinder models or rod for V6 models controls a valve in the transaxle that governs shift quality and speed, and if shifting is harsh or erratic, adjustment of the throttle cable or rod is necessary. The adjustment should be performed with the engine at normal operating temperature. To adjust the cable, loosen the cable mounting bracket lock screw and position the bracket so the alignment tabs contact the transaxle casting, then tighten the lock screw to the specified torque. Release the cross-lock on the cable assembly by pulling up on it, ensuring the cable can slide freely toward the engine against the stop after releasing the cross-lock. Move the transaxle throttle control lever clockwise to its internal stop and press the cross-lock down to lock it in place. Check the cable action by moving it all the way forward, releasing it slowly, and confirming it returns completely. For rod adjustment, loosen the adjustment swivel lock screw and ensure the swivel slides freely along the flat end of the throttle rod; if it does not, disassemble the linkage for cleaning or repair. Move the transaxle throttle lever toward the engine, hold it against its stop, and tighten the lock screw to the specified torque. Lubricating the linkage at this stage is advisable.
