    Remove the radio and heater/air conditioning control bezel assembly from the instrument panel. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the back of the heater/air conditioning control assembly. On models with automatic temperature control, also disconnect the additional electrical connector for the infrared sensor. Remove the mounting fasteners at each corner and then remove the control assembly from the bezel.

    From the engine compartment, drain the cooling system and disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core pipes. Plug the pipes to avoid spilling coolant inside the vehicle. Unplug the electrical connector and disconnect the refrigerant lines from the expansion valve at the firewall on the right side of the vehicle. Seal the refrigerant lines to prevent contamination. Remove the expansion valve from the evaporator plate. Seal the valve to avoid contamination. Remove the condensate drain tube.
