    Q:
How should headlights be aimed correctly to avoid blinding oncoming drivers on Dodge Caravan? Posted by Customer
    A:
The headlights have to be adjusted properly to reduce chances of dazzling other motorists which can cause serious accidents or reduce visibility. The aim should be checked at least once a year and whenever a new headlight housing has been fitted or front-end of the car has been tempered with. The following procedure is only a non-permanent solution before a professional does an alignment. A vertical adjustment screw is located at a hole in the radiator crossmember of the vehicles. They should be made on a level ground with the fuel tank full and the vehicle with its normal operating load. One of the simplest methods is taping with masking tape on the previously non-painted area of the blank wall the centerline of the vehicle and the pair of the headlight bulb with an additional horizontal line of masking tape for reference. Park the car at 25 feet range from the wall and the height from ground of the car should be with half tank of gas and no additional load. The high-intensity zone should be positioned two inches below the line that is horizontal line and two inches to the side of the headlight vertical line and not towards oncoming traffic. With the knock-down bar, the horizontal adjusting screw can be turned to shift the beam either to the left or right and that the lower beams will in the process adjust the upper beams as well. A proper alignment of the headlights should be done by a dealer service department or any service station as soon as possible.
