    Q:
How do you replace a headlight bulb on Chrysler Town & Country? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Remove the headlight housing. Rotate the headlight bulb retaining ring counterclockwise and pull out the bulb socket, ensuring that when installing the retaining ring, each of the three tabs on the ring aligns with its corresponding cutout in the mounting flange. Replace the headlight bulb and socket as a unit, aligning the three slots on the bulb socket's mounting flange with the three bosses in the headlight assembly. When installing the new bulb, ensure the three metal tabs align with their corresponding grooves in the plastic headlight housing, and similarly align the retaining ring's three metal tabs with their grooves. Avoid touching the surface of the bulb with fingers, as oil can cause overheating and premature failure; if touched, clean it with rubbing alcohol. Installation is otherwise the reverse of removal.

    Q:
How can you simplify headlight bulb replacement without removing the headlight housing on Dodge Dakota? Posted by Customer
    A:
The procedure is useful when you need to learn how to change a headlight bulb without having to unmount the headlight housing; but if your hands are too large, then it may be almost impossible to change the bulb without having to unmount the headlight housing. Beginning with the engine you should switch on the engine and with the front wheels rotated to as many left or right as possible in order to create sufficient space to work on. Or you could: failed to understand the signal-loosen the front wheel lug nuts, lift the front of the vehicle, and support it on jackstands, then remove the wheel. Then proceed to the inside of the wheel housing to get rid of the access panel of the housing of electrical connectors of headlights. Next, unscrew the bulb socket from the headlight housing in anticlockwise direction and come out of the housing. Pull the tab at the bottom and come off the electrical connector which has a sliding lock, push it away from the unit towards harness and lift the tab on top. Last of all, installation is the sort of procedure that is opposite to the removal procedure.
