    Q:
How do you replace the Door Handle, latch and lock cylinder on Dodge Grand Caravan? Posted by Customer
    A:
When installing a new latch, simply close the window and then take off the door trim panel and the watershield. First, if this is the earlier model, unscrew two Torx-head link rods from the latch, then remove the three Torx-head mounting screws if they are overtightened, using an impact-type screwdriver if possible. Closely unscrew the latch then place the new latch and screw it in tightly until they are tightly fixed. Connect the link rods to the latch and ensure that the door will close well, if the latch is an issue, engage the screws and adjust the latch until the door closes properly with the handle flat. After that tighten the linkage adjusting screw with a 5/32-inches hex-head wrench through the adjustment hole, after that, move the squab up in the slot to remove extra Loose from linkage. For the lock cylinder of the outside door handle, it is necessary to disconnect the connecting link and then push the retainer of the key lock cylinder with use of a screwdriver to pull the lock cylinder out of the door and the process of installation is opposite to the mentioned procedure. To remove the outside handle, push down on the end of the remote control link which disengages the latch, unscrew the two nuts on the mounting plate and remove the handle from the door. Last but not the least, position the handle, connect the link and fix the nuts properly on to the Link fixed on Link rod.

    Q:
How do you remove the Door Handle,Door Latch and Door Lock Cylinder on Dodge Ram 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Remove the cover plate first by removing the door trim panel. For crew cab models, also remove the rear speaker and access panel from the back of the door. In case of club cab models, remove both little access plugs situated near the top middle part of the door. Then release glass clips at its bottom edge from window regulator lift plates. Lift up glass to full closed position and tape across top of door to hold in place. At last, disconnect main wiring connector in this door and pull rubber wiring grommet off this door jamb. Using a small screwdriver gently press lock tabs inward until they are flush and coax connector out of hole in metal. The control rods will be disconnected after removing the access plate from outside handle. To get wire harness loose from front edge, take out two screws on it. The screw on lower belt channel is removed in standard cab models only .Door latch screws should come off from edge of door as well ,remove bolts around perimeter of carrier plate then lift it off .After removal of carrier plate, proceed similarly for removing latch and disconnecting wiring from door latch .Detach bracket and take off latch; it is removed by doing so.Step2:To remove the outside handle, you must first unscrew the bolts on the inner side, then gently pull the handle outward.Step3:Disconnect 2 control rods from handle, unscrew inside bolts through inner side then remove outer handle. To have inside handle out you need to pull trims panel down that will let you detach control rod away from these handles.Mounting screw at top hinge can be removed.
