    Q:
How do you disconnect and replace the power steering pump on Dodge Challenger? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Using a large syringe or suction gun, suck as much fluid out of the power steering fluid reservoir as possible. Remove the air filter housing and the drivebelt. Position a drain pan under the power steering pump, then disconnect the pressure line and the supply hose, plugging the openings to prevent excessive fluid loss and the entry of contaminants. Remove the pump mounting bolts, which can be accessed through the holes in the power steering pump pulley. Lift the pump from the engine compartment, being careful not to let any power steering fluid drip on the vehicle's paint. The pulley can be removed from the pump if necessary, with special tools available at most auto parts stores. Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring all fasteners are tightened securely. Fill the power steering reservoir with the recommended fluid and bleed the system, then re-check the power steering fluid level.
