    Q:
What are the steps involved in replacing the fuel pressure regulator and fuel inlet strainer in the fuel pump module on Chrysler Cirrus? Posted by Customer
    A:
Several parts make up the fuel pump module; the fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, fuel inlet strainer, and fuel level sending unit. For the replacement of the fuel pressure regulator, the procedure is followed by the fuel pressure relief and the removal of the fuel pump module. Place the following tab under the two tabs on the pressure regulator retainer and unscrew it to remove; gently pry out the pressure regulator from the fuel pump module housing bringing along the upper and lower O-ring seals which should be discarded. Coat new O-ring seals with a thin layer of clean engine oil and fit them into the receptacle of the fuel pump module and firmly set it. After that, mount the newly removed pressure regulator and fix it in place with the help of the retainer which has to be bent over the tabs on the fuel pump module. As for the fuel inlet strainer replacement carry out the fuel pressure relief and, only after that, remove the fuel pump module. Take off the fuel inlet strainer by loosening the tangs on the top of it with a flat blade screwdriver and lifting it off together with the O-ring seal from the tabs on the fuel pump reservoir. Please ensure that before fitting the new O-ring seal you dip it in clean engine oil and then fit it to the fuel pump reservoir. Last, screw the fuel inlet strainer back on to the fuel pump reservoir and make sure that it locks in, put the fuel pump module back.

    Q:
How should you install the fuel pressure regulator for the 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan? Posted by Customer
    A:
Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring that the regulator O-ring is lubricated with clean engine oil for the 3.0L engine and that the regulator has two O-rings installed in the cavity for the 3.3L and 3.8L engines.
