    To relieve system fuel pressure, detach the cable from the negative battery terminal. Remove the DIS coil pack fasteners and swing it out of the way to gain access to the fuel pressure regulator. Disconnect the fuel hose quick-connect fitting from the fuel return tube. Unplug the electrical connector from the coolant temperature sensor. Remove the screw from the fuel rail retainer bracket. Using two flare nut or open end wrenches, loosen the return tube nut and remove the fuel pressure regulator. Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring that the fuel return tube nut is securely tightened.

    To relieve fuel pressure, disconnect the negative battery cable. For the 3.3L and 3.8L engines, detach the vacuum hose and remove the regulator retainer screw and retainer. Inspect O-rings and replace them if damaged. Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring lubrication and O-ring installation.

    After relieving the fuel system pressure and disconnecting the negative battery cable, the three screws holding the regulator in place should be removed. Wrap a cloth around the fuel inlet chamber to catch any residual fuel. Carefully remove the O-ring and gasket from the regulator. Place a new gasket and O-ring on the pressure regulator and secure it with the three mounting screws. Finally, install the air cleaner assembly.
