Start by loosening the wheel lug nuts and raising the front of the vehicle on jackstands. Remove the front wheels and reinstall the lug nuts to hold the disc firmly against the hub. Remove the brake caliper and visually inspect the disc surface for damage. Light scratches and shallow grooves are normal, but deep grooves require disc removal and refinishing. Check the disc run out using a dial indicator, making sure it doesn't exceed the specified limit. If it does, the disc needs to be machined or replaced. It is recommended to resurface the discs regardless of the run out reading. Check the disc thickness with a micrometer, making sure it doesn't go below the specified minimum thickness.
