Raise and secure the vehicle on jack stands. Mark the driveshaft's alignment with the differential axle assembly flange before removing the bolts. Lower the driveshaft and slide the front end out of the transmission housing. For two-piece driveshafts, mark and unbolt the center support bearing before sliding the front end out. Cover the extension housing with a plastic bag to prevent fluid loss. During installation, check and replace the oil seal and center support bearing if necessary. Ensure alignment marks match when inserting the driveshaft. For 4WD models, remove the skid plate and exhaust crossover pipe if necessary, mark alignment, unbolt the flange, and remove the driveshaft. Ensure proper alignment during installation.

If replacing the joints yourself, it is important to mark each yoke in relation to the one opposite in order to maintain the balance. Additionally, the assembly should not be dropped during servicing operations.
