    How to Remove and Install a Throttle Body on a Dodge Ram 1500? Posted by Customer

    Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Remove the air inlet tube. Disconnect the wiring harness from the throttle body. Disconnect any vacuum lines from the throttle body. Remove the four mounting bolts and remove the throttle body. Thoroughly clean all sealing surfaces. Inspect the gasket/0-ring and replace it if necessary. Install the throttle body and tighten the bolts finger tight, then tighten them with a torque wrench. The remainder of installation is the reverse of removal. On 5.7L Hemi engines, take the vehicle to a dealer or other qualified service center that has the appropriate scan tool and have them perform the ETC Relearn function.

    Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Remove the air intake duct and the air resonator box. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the Throttle Position (TP) sensor and from the idle Air Control motor. Clearly label all vacuum hoses connected to the throttle body, then disconnect them. Inspect the vacuum hoses for cracks, tears, and deterioration. Replace any damaged hoses. Disconnect the accelerator cable and, if equipped, the cruise control cable from the throttle body.
