    Q:
Is it necessary to discharge the air conditioning system in order to replace the high pressure switch on Dodge Durango? Posted by Customer
    A:
First of all, to replace the high-pressure switch, you can disconnect the negative battery terminal. Unplug the connector from the AC pressure switch, located on the high-pressure line above the condenser or near the coolant reservoir. Unscrew the pressure cycling switch using a backup wrench to avoid damage. Lubricate the switch 0-ring with clean refrigerant oil. Screw the new switch onto the line until the screw is hand-tight, then tighten it securely with a backup wrench.

    Q:
Where is the High and Low Pressure Cycling Switch Located on Dodge Neon? Posted by Customer
    A:
The high pressure cycling switch is located in the air conditioning compressor on all models. The low pressure cycling switch is located in the expansion valve on 2000 through 2002 models or on the accumulator on 2003 models. To replace the pressure cycling switch, first have the refrigerant discharged by an air conditioning technician. Then, unplug the electrical connector from the switch and unscrew the old switch. Before installing the new switch, lubricate the O-ring with clean refrigerant oil. Screw the new switch onto the threads until hand tight, and then tighten it securely. Reconnect the electrical connector. Finally, have the system evacuated, charged, and leak tested by the shop that discharged it.
