- A:To replace an AC condenser, first discharge the system and disconnect the battery cable. Remove the radiator grille and radiator. Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the condenser, using a backup wrench to prevent bending. Remove the condenser's mounting bolts and lift it out, plugging the lines to avoid dirt entry. If reusing the condenser, store it with line fittings on top to prevent oil drainage. If installing a new one, add an ounce of refrigerant oil.
