To replace the oil pan pull off the timing chain cover then take out the oil pump cover bolted to the timing chain cover by applying power on the Torx drive socket. Fit the outer rotor into the timing chain cover/oil pump housing and check the gap when the rotor would be in its highest position; if this gap is larger than the maximum permissible gap, then change the pump. Insert the inner rotor in the oil pump assembly and check the leakage between the lobes of inner and outer rotor replacing the pump in the event leakage is greater than mentioned above, be certain that the arrow marked on the inner rotor is up. Place a straightedge on the face of the oil pump assembly, and using a micrometer measure the distance between the surface of the pump and the rotors; if the distance is more than the recommended limit you replace the pump. On installations, tighten the pump cover bolts to the torque of your choice, ensure that the flats in the rotor slotting match those of the crankshaft when fixing the pump and then fit the timing chain cover and fixed by the right torque.
