Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Disconnect the blower motor connector. Release locking tab, then rotate and remove the motor from the housing. Detach the fan retainer clip from the motor shaft. Slip the fan off the old motor shaft, mount it on the new motor and install the retainer clip. Place the blower motor in position, and rotate it, making sure all of the locking tabs are in their slots. Reconnect the electrical connector and battery cable. Test the motor operation and make sure the air seal around the motor is not leaking.

Check fuse and connections, ensure battery is charged. With transmission in Park, turn ignition switch to On. Locate blower motor, release wiring harness. Connect voltmeter to blower motor connector, move switch through each position, noting voltage readings. If voltage but motor doesn't work, connect jumper wire between motor ground and chassis ground, and fused jumper wire between battery positive and motor positive. If no voltage, remove resistor block connector and check for voltage. If voltage, check resistor block for continuity and wiring for open/short. If no voltage, remove heater control panel and check for voltage at blower motor switch connector. If voltage, connect jumper wire between switch connector and resistor block terminals. If motor operates, replace switch.

Connect a voltmeter to the blower motor connector and move the blower switch through each position, noting the voltage readings. Changes in voltage indicate varying motor speeds.

Release the locking tab, then rotate and remove the motor from the housing.
