Position the pump on the engine and make sure the pump rotor is aligned with the crankshaft drive.

Install a new O-ring onto the oil pump pick-up tube, connect the tube to the pump, and tighten the bolt to the torque.

To remove the oil pump, follow these steps: Disconnect the oil pump pick-up tube and solenoid electrical connector. Remove the oil pump timing gear splash shield and press the oil pump chain tensioner away from the chain. Make reference marks on the chain and oil pump gear. Hold the oil pump gear and remove the T45 Torx mounting bolt. Release the tensioner and remove the spring and tensioner from the oil pump. Finally, remove the oil pump mounting bolts and the pump itself.

Remove the screws holding the front cover on the oil pump housing and clean all components with solvent.
