To remove the radio, first disconnect the negative battery cable from the ground stud on the left shock tower, then remove the center bezel and the mounting screws. Pull the radio out of the instrument panel, releasing the clips and disconnecting the electrical connectors and antenna lead from the rear before removing it from the vehicle. Installation is the reverse of removal. For the amplifier, remove the left front seat, then take out the screws and nut securing the amplifier to the floor pan, disconnect the electrical connectors, and remove it from the vehicle, with installation being the reverse of removal. For door speakers, on vehicles with manual windows, remove the window crank using a special tool or a cloth to dislodge the retaining clip, carefully pry the speaker grille from the door trim panel, remove the speaker mounting screws, withdraw the speaker, disconnect the electrical connector, and remove it from the vehicle, with installation being the reverse of removal. To remove the instrument panel, take off the top cover, remove the mounting screws, lift the speaker out, disconnect the electrical connector, and remove the speaker, with installation being the reverse of removal. For the rear seat area, remove the rear lower seat cushion and the rear seat back, take out the bolts securing the rear seat belt anchors, disengage the clips holding the upper quarter trim pieces, route the seat belt webbing through the access holes, pry off the quarter panel trim extensions, remove the fasteners securing the parcel shelf, pull the parcel shelf forward to disengage it, and then remove the mounting screws to lift the speakers out of the trunk closure, disconnect the electrical connectors, and remove them from the vehicle, with installation being the reverse of removal, ensuring that the speaker wire connectors face outward.
