    Q:
Could you describe the steps for removing the shock absorbe for the 2009 Dodge Ram 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Certainly. For 4WD models with a solid front axle, start by loosening the driveaxle/hub nut and wheel lug nuts on 1500 4WD models. Then, raise the front of the vehicle and securely support it on jackstands. Proceed by removing the wheel, followed by the three upper shock absorber mounting nuts and the lower shock absorber mounting nut and bolt. You'll also need to remove the brake caliper and disc. Additionally, detach the wheel speed sensor from the steering knuckle and upper control arm, detach the upper balljoint from the steering knuckle, and detach the stabilizer link from the lower control arm. Finally, remove the driveaxle/hub nut and pull the top of the knuckle out to remove the shock absorber/coil spring assembly.

How do you start replacing the rear shock absorbers on a 2009 Dodge Ram 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start by raising the rear of the vehicle and supporting it securely on jackstands placed under the frame rails. Support the rear axle with a floor jack placed under the axle tube on the side being worked on.

    Q:
How can you check the movement of the steering knuckle-to-control arm ball joint for the 2013 Ram 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Clean the lower end of the steering knuckle and have an assistant grasp the lower edge of the tire and move the wheel in-and-out while checking for movement at the steering knuckle-to-control arm ball joint. If there is any movement, the suspension ball joint(s) must be replaced.

    Q:

    A:
For 4WD models with a solid front axle, you'll need to remove the shock absorber upper mounting bracket in addition to the other steps. This bracket removal is part of the process.
