How to Replace a Brake Booster? Posted by Customer
A:
Disconnect battery cable(s). Depress brake pedal several times. Remove master cylinder, return hose and pressure line(s). Remove clip and washer, disengage pushrod from pedal. Remove mounting nuts. Remove booster from firewall. Install in reverse. Tighten nuts and pressure lines. Bleed brake and power steering systems.

Periodic inspection of the vacuum hose and case is all that is required for maintenance. To check operation, depress the brake pedal with the engine off and start the engine. To remove the power brake booster, remove the master cylinder and disconnect the vacuum hose and pushrod. To install, place the booster into position, connect the pushrod and master cylinder, connect the brake lines, and tighten all fitting nuts.
