To check the engine mounts, the engine must be raised slightly to remove the weight from the mounts. The vehicle should be raised and securely supported on jackstands. Then, a jack should be placed under the engine oil pan with a large wood block between the jack head and the oil pan to prevent damage. The engine should be raised just enough to take the weight off the mounts. The mounts should be inspected for cracked, hardened, or separated rubber, as well as any relative movement between the mount plates and the engine or frame.

Support the front axle with a floor jack and remove the engine mount through-bolts, as well as the bolts attaching the mounts to the front axle assembly and engine block. Lower the front axle slightly and remove the old mount. Install the new mount, ensuring correct positioning, and tighten the fasteners securely.
