    This guide applies to all models except Chrysler 300C Models with a V8 engine, which uses High-Intensity Discharge (HID) units for low-beam headlights. To replace a bulb, remove the air filter housing for the left headlights, disconnect the electrical connector, and turn the bulb counterclockwise to detach it. Installation is the reverse of removal. For 300C models, the HID bulbs use an AC electrical charge to ignite xenon gas, providing more light, using less energy, and lasting longer.

The igniter controls the voltage applied to the electrodes, stepping up the 800 volt AC input to about 25000 volts to start up the light, and then reducing voltage to about 85 volts. It takes about 10-15 seconds for the HID bulb to warm up before operating normally.
