    If the linkage seems to be adjusted correctly but the starter still operates in positions other than PARK and NEUTRAL, the Transmission Range (TR) sensor should be replaced.

    To adjust the shift cable, place the shift lever in the PARK position and raise the vehicle securely on jackstands. Verify that the manual shift lever is in the PARK position by checking the park lock pawl inside the transmission. If the driveshaft does not rotate, the transmission is correctly engaged in PARK. Disengage the locking clip on the cable end, move the end of the cable in or out as required to snap it over the stud on the shift lever, and snap the locking clip into place. Lower the vehicle and replace any trim panels that were removed. Ensure the engine starts with the parking brake applied.
