The spark plug wires should be inspected as recommended by the car's service manual or each time new spark plugs are fixed on the engine; since it is recommended that the wires be lined in a correct sequence to ensure correct firing order of the engine. The plug wire must be disconnected from the spark plug using the removal tool or one must grab the rubber boot and twist it slightly then pull it which will separate the wire from the plug wire. Inspect the rest of the spark plug wires to see if they are well connected to the distributor as well as at the spark plug end. If new sparkplug wires are required then get a set appropriate to the engine type; they are usually available pre-fitted with rubber boots and should be fitted one to a set and in the correct firing order to avoid confusion. Furthermore, it is necessary to inspect the distributor cap and the rotor for wears that may include cracks, carbon tracks and worn or loose electrical contact, which one may replace with new spare parts, or is customary to fit new cap and rotor if you have fitted new spark plug wires, but moving the wires from the old cap to new one in correct firing order.
