    Q:
What are the signs of a faulty turn signal bulb and how can you replace the flasher unit on Chrysler PT Cruiser? Posted by Customer
    A:
The turn signal and hazard flasher is a single combination unit and when working it makes an audible click sound. If the turn signals fail on one side and the flasher unit does not click, or one of the bulbs on one side flashes much more rapidly that the other and the corresponding bulb does not come on at all, a faulty turn signal bulb may be assumed. If, however, both turn signals do not blink, the problem may be fuse, flasher unit, switch or, if any of these components are faulty or there is a loose connection. The turn signal or blinker fuse is usually found in the fuse box and only takes a short amount of time to check and determine whether it is blown or not; before replacing it a check should be made on the wiring for signs of a short. To replace the flasher, the steering column covers had to be pulled off and then took out the flasher by unplugging it at the back of the multi-function switch that was detached by the removal of the mounting screws. Be very particular that the replacement unit is the same and should examine the old and the new before slotting it back into place, and this should be in the reverse order to which it was removed.

    A:
If the turn signals fail on one side and the flasher does not click, or if one bulb flashes much faster than the other while the opposite bulb does not light, a faulty turn signal bulb may be the issue.
