    Q:
How do you remove the power steering pump for the 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser? Posted by Customer
    A:
Using a suction gun, remove as much fluid from the power steering fluid reservoir as you can. Loosen the right front wheel lug nuts, raise the front of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Remove the wheel. Remove the drivebelt splash shield, then remove the drivebelt from the power steering pump and the air conditioning compressor. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the air conditioning compressor, then unbolt the compressor and move it towards the driver's side of the vehicle. Unscrew the pressure line fitting from the bottom of the power steering pump using a ratchet, long extension, and a crowfoot attachment. Lower the vehicle and remove the radiator grille. Remove the weatherstrip from the upper radiator crossmember, then remove the crossmember and brace. Lift the radiator and fan assembly up and out of its mounts, then reposition it as far as possible towards the inside of the vehicle and tie it in place. Detach the fluid supply hose from the fitting on the pump. Remove the three bolts securing the power steering pump to its mounting bracket, then remove the two bolts securing the bracket to the engine block. Carefully pull the radiator forward and remove the power steering pump out from between the engine and the radiator.
