    How do I remove and install the tailgate latch and handle on Dodge Ram 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
    First, let down the rear door and take out its plastic lining as well as access cover. This will create a space to reach the rear door access panel. Next, remove fastening devices of latch mounting. They can be difficult to turn so you may have to use an impact driver hit with a hammer. After removing fasteners, disconnect control rod from latch and remove it from tailgate. Installation is simply the reverse of removal. Now on handle itself, disconnect control rods and any wiring harnesses before undoing retaining nuts and detaching the handle assembly from tailgate At this stage the lock cylinder can be removed from the handle assembly. The latter case will be solved by treating in opposite way.
