    To replace the rear hub/bearing assembly, begin by loosening the wheel lug nuts and raising the vehicle securely on jackstands. Remove the wheel and the brake drum. Remove the rear hub/bearing dust cap with a hammer and chisel, and then remove the retaining nut. Discard it and pull the assembly off the rear spindle. To begin installing, use a new retaining nut. Install the wheel. Lower the vehicle and tighten the lug nuts.

    Mount the steering knuckle securely in a vise. Remove the hub/bearing mounting bolts from the steering knuckle. Remove the hub/bearing from the steering knuckle. It may be necessary to tap the assembly out with a hammer. To install, clean all hub/bearing mounting surfaces on the steering knuckle. Install the hub/bearing on the steering knuckle and tighten the bolts to the torque.
