    Q:
How do you remove and install a steering knuckle on Chrysler Sebring? Posted by Customer
    A:
The steering knuckle is not a repairable component; it must be replaced if it is damaged in any way. To remove the steering knuckle, start by loosening the wheel lug nuts and the driveaxle/hub nut. Then, raise the vehicle and support it on jackstands. Remove the wheel, driveaxle/hub nut, brake disc, and ABS front wheel speed sensor. Detach the tie-rod end from the steering knuckle and separate the balljoint from the control arm. Remove the steering knuckle-to-strut bolt(s), noting their direction. On 2014 and earlier models, if the strut assembly is attached to the steering knuckle using a cam bolt in the lower slotted hole, mark the relationship of the cam bolt to the strut to preserve the wheel alignment setting on reassembly. Finally, remove the steering knuckle from the strut, separate the driveaxle from the hub splines, and suspend it safely aside. To install the steering knuckle, follow the reverse of the removal steps. Tighten all suspension fasteners, install the wheel, lower the vehicle, and tighten the lug nuts. Lastly, have the front end alignment checked and adjusted if necessary.
