Start the engine and turn the front wheels all the way to the left or right to provide some room to work; alternatively, loosen the front wheel lug nuts, raise the front of the vehicle, place it securely on jackstands, and remove the wheel. Working inside the wheel housing, remove the access panel for the headlight housing electrical connectors. Remove the headlight mounting nut and mounting bolts by working at the front side of the headlights. Pull out the headlight housing far enough to disconnect the bulb sockets for the headlight bulb and for the front park/turn signal/side-marker light bulbs by pulling out the slide locks, depressing the release tabs, and pulling off the connectors. Remove the headlight housing. Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring that the two lower front mounting bolts are screwed into U-nuts mounted on small mounting tabs that are part of the front fender, and confirm that these U-nuts are correctly positioned on the mounting tabs before installing the front mounting bolts.

Place masking tape vertically on the wall to align with the vehicle centerline and the centerlines of both headlights. A horizontal tape line should be positioned at the centerline of the headlights, ideally with the vehicle parked just a few inches away for easier tape placement.
