If needed, prop open the lid, pry out the lift support locking caps and remove the supports. Replace supports as a pair, one side at a time. Reverse steps to install. For the latch, remove the trim panel, disconnect the electrical connector, remove the latch fasteners and the latch. Reverse steps to install.

    To replace the trunk lid latch follow the below steps, open the trunk remove the latch trim cover screws. In models with trunk lid liner pull out also the push pins so that you can access the trunk latch assembly. Then, write a line around the latch assembly and finally, remove the electrical connector. After that, remove mounting fasteners and the latch should be removed as well from the automobile. Last, the installation process is done in the sequence of the removal process in reverse manner.
