Disconnect the cables from the negative terminals of the batteries. Disconnect the wiring from the EGR temperature sensor and valve actuator. Unbolt the oil dipstick tube. Remove the intercooler tube by loosening the clamp attaching the intercooler duct to the air intake housing. Remove the clamps from both ends of the air transfer tube. Remove the bolt from the P-clip for the air conditioning line, then remove the air transfer tube. Remove the six air intake screws, then remove the air intake. Clean debris from both ends of all of the fuel tubes. Loosen the two bolts of the bracket at the rear of the head that holds the injector tubes. Tilt the bracket for access to the rear injector tube. Place rags to absorb spilled fuel, then disconnect the rear four injector tubes and remove them. Don't bend the lines or allow fuel to run down the sides of the engine. Disconnect the wiring from the sensor at the rear of the fuel rail. Detach the fuel rail from the dump/overflow valve, then remove it. Detach the remaining interfering wiring connections. Remove the intake manifold bolts and lift off the manifold. Installation is the reverse of removal. Use a new gasket. Tighten the intake manifold cover bolts to the torque.

Disconnect the negative battery terminals, disconnect wiring from the EGR temperature sensor and EGR valve actuator, remove the oil dipstick tube fasteners, intercooler outlet tube, air transfer tube, and air inlet, disconnect the fuel supply tubes and lines, disconnect the wiring from the sensor at the rear of the fuel rail, remove the high pressure fuel line from the dump valve, remove the fuel rail, disconnect the remaining wiring harnesses, and then the intake manifold can be removed.

Disconnect the negative battery terminals, disconnect wiring from the EGR temperature sensor and EGR valve actuator, remove the oil dipstick tube fasteners, intercooler outlet tube, air transfer tube, and air inlet, disconnect the fuel supply tubes and lines, disconnect the wiring from the sensor at the rear of the fuel rail, remove the high pressure fuel line from the dump valve, remove the fuel rail, disconnect the remaining wiring harnesses, and then the intake manifold can be removed.

The initial steps to remove the intake manifold are relieving the fuel system pressure and disconnecting the negative battery cable.

After removing the intake manifold, label and detach any remaining hoses or wiring. Then, lift the manifold up and remove it from the engine. To install it, clean and inspect the sealing surfaces, replace any damaged gaskets, and position the manifold correctly over the cylinder heads. Hand-tighten the intake manifold bolts and then tighten them to the recommended torque. Complete the installation by following the reverse of the removal steps, fill the cooling system, and check for leaks.

Remove the intake manifold by sliding it forward, then disconnect the MAP sensor and any other connectors. As the manifold is lifted from the engine, check for and disconnect anything still attached. Note that the mating surfaces of the cylinder heads and intake manifold must be perfectly clean when the manifold is installed.

To remove the upper intake manifold, you need to disconnect various electrical connectors, hoses, and wiring harness retainers. Then, you should loosen the upper intake manifold bolts and remove it, discarding the upper-to-lower intake manifold seals. If necessary, remove the insulator from the left valve cover.

Detach the fuel rail from the dump/overflow valve, then remove it.

The next step is to disconnect the alternator and air conditioning compressor, and unbolt the ground straps.

Loosen the clamp attaching the intercooler duct to the air intake housing.

Remove the intake manifold by sliding it forward, then disconnect the MAP sensor and any other connectors. As the manifold is lifted from the engine, check for and disconnect anything still attached. Note that the mating surfaces of the cylinder heads and intake manifold must be perfectly clean when the manifold is installed.

Disconnect the negative battery terminals, disconnect the left intercooler tube from the EGR air flow control valve, remove the EGR crossover tube, disconnect interfering wiring harnesses, remove the oil dipstick tube bolts and intake manifold bolts, install a new gasket during reassembly, disconnect the fuel injector wiring harness and pressure sensor wiring harness, remove the air intake heater mounting bolts, lift off the heater assembly and discard the gasket, use new upper and lower heater block gaskets during reassembly, and replace the intake air heater relay by disconnecting the negative battery terminals, labeling and disconnecting the trigger wires, removing the nuts from the cable terminals, and removing the relay mounting bracket bolts.

The initial steps to remove the intake manifold are relieving the fuel system pressure and disconnecting the negative battery cable.

Install the intake manifold bolts and tighten them following the correct sequence, to the specified torque. Do not over tighten the bolts.

To remove the intake manifold, you should remove the intake manifold mounting fasteners, being careful not to damage the gasket sealing surfaces.
