Clamp a pair of locking pliers onto the clutch fluid feed hose a couple of inches downstream of the brake fluid reservoir to prevent fluid flow when the hose is disconnected. Working under the instrument panel, remove the driver's side under-dash panel, steering column cover, and reinforcement. Disconnect the clutch master cylinder pushrod from the pedal by removing the clip from the clutch pedal pin, and it is recommended to use a new clip during installation. Disconnect the starter/clutch interlock switch connector, taking care to avoid brake fluid contact with paint or carpet, as it will damage the finish; have rags handy for any fluid loss during the line removal. Separate the hydraulic line from the clutch master cylinder and plug the line to prevent leakage. Remove the master cylinder mounting nuts and detach the master cylinder, then follow the reverse order for installation and bleed the clutch hydraulic system.
