For 2009 models, disconnect the negative battery terminals, wiring from the EGR temperature sensor and EGR valve actuator, oil dipstick tube fasteners, intercooler outlet tube, air transfer tube, and air inlet. Disconnect the fuel supply tubes and lines, wiring from the sensor at the rear of the fuel rail, and high pressure fuel line from the dump valve. For 2010 and later models, disconnect the left intercooler tube from the EGR air flow control valve, remove the EGR crossover tube, and disconnect interfering wiring harnesses. Remove the oil dipstick tube bolts and intake manifold bolts, and install a new gasket. To access the intake air heater grids, disconnect the heater cable, positive and ground cables, intake air heater manifold bolts, and dipstick tube mounting bracket bolt. Disconnect the fuel injector wiring harness and pressure sensor wiring harness, and remove the air intake heater mounting bolts. During reassembly, use new upper and lower heater block gaskets. To replace the intake air heater relay, disconnect the negative battery terminals, label and disconnect the trigger wires, remove the nuts from the cable terminals, and remove the relay mounting bracket bolts.

Carefully set the manifold in place without disturbing the rubber seals or moving it after contact with the cylinder heads to avoid pushing the seals out of place.

Disconnect all electrical connectors for the intake manifold sensors, ignition coils, Idle Air Control motor, alternator, and air conditioning compressor.

After that, you should remove the air intake duct and label and disconnect the vacuum hoses and electrical connectors leading to the manifold.

To remove the upper intake manifold, you need to disconnect various electrical connectors, hoses, and wiring harness retainers. Then, you should loosen the upper intake manifold bolts and remove it, discarding the upper-to-lower intake manifold seals. If necessary, remove the insulator from the left valve cover.

Detach the fuel rail from the dump/overflow valve, then remove it.

Detach the remaining interfering wiring connections.

The next step is to disconnect the alternator and air conditioning compressor, and unbolt the ground straps.

Remove the wiring harness support from the rear of the manifold. Also, remove the air conditioning line support clip and move the line aside. Remove the alternator and set it aside.

Install the intake manifold bolts and tighten them following the correct sequence, to the specified torque. Do not over tighten the bolts.

To install the upper intake manifold, you should check the condition of the rubber seals. If necessary, place the insulator on the mounting pins. Then, tighten the mounting bolts. The remainder of the installation is the reverse of removal.

Disconnect the negative battery terminals, disconnect the left intercooler tube from the EGR air flow control valve, remove the EGR crossover tube, disconnect interfering wiring harnesses, remove the oil dipstick tube bolts and intake manifold bolts, install a new gasket during reassembly, disconnect the fuel injector wiring harness and pressure sensor wiring harness, remove the air intake heater mounting bolts, lift off the heater assembly and discard the gasket, use new upper and lower heater block gaskets during reassembly, and replace the intake air heater relay by disconnecting the negative battery terminals, labeling and disconnecting the trigger wires, removing the nuts from the cable terminals, and removing the relay mounting bracket bolts.
