To replace the blower motor resistor, disconnect the negative battery terminal, and remove the windshield wiper arms and cowl grille screen. Disconnect the electrical connector from the resistor on the right side of the cowl plenum, pry it out with a screwdriver, and ensure not to mix up the air conditioning and non-air conditioning resistors. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Begin by disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal and removing the lower dash panel from the right side of the dashboard below the glove box. Pull back the carpet and disconnect the blower motor electrical connector. For air conditioned models, remove the blower motor mounting screws and then remove the blower motor from the blower housing. For non-air conditioned models, pull the release tab down and simultaneously rotate the blower motor 1/8 turn counterclockwise to separate it from the blower housing. For all models, remove the circlip from the fan and separate the fan from the blower motor frame. Finally, installation is the reverse of removal.
