Replacing a driveshaft center bearing is best done with a hydraulic press since the driveshaft must be removed to accomplish the center bearing removal job. Start by lifting the car and placing it on jackstands with the selector lever positioned to Neutral. Next strip off the crossmember brace and the rear part of the exhaust pipe together with the heat shield over the exhaust. In order to align the driveshaft correctly during the reassembly, it is recommend to use chalk or scribe the position of the driveshaft to the flange of the transmission. Depower the fasteners that hold the driveshaft to the transmission flange and mark the position of the driveshaft to the differential pinion flange then the fasteners that holds them together are also removed.
