- A:The Evaporative Emissions Control (EVAP) system absorbs fuel vapors and releases them into the intake manifold. The system includes the EVAP canister and Leak Detection Pump (LOP) or Natural Vacuum Leak Detection (NVLD) assembly, located under the vehicle. To replace the EVAP canister purge solenoid, label and disconnect the EVAP hoses and electrical connector, then detach the solenoid. - A:The EVAP canister purge solenoid is on the left side of the firewall, below the power brake booster. Remove the air filter housing and disconnect the EVAP hoses from the solenoid. Slide out the red lock and disconnect the electrical connector. To install, reverse the removal process.
