Have the air conditioning system refrigerant discharged and recovered by an air conditioning technician.Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.Remove the air filter housing.Remove the right drain tube from the windshield wiper assembly to access the valve.Remove the nut securing both line fittings to the valve and remove the lines, discarding the seals. Plug all openings promptly to minimize contamination.Remove the mounting fasteners for the valve and then remove the valve, discarding any other seals. Make sure to plug all openings. If the model has a temperature sensor mounted on the expansion valve, remove its electrical connector and the sensor fasteners before removing it.Installation involves reversing the removal process. Remember to install new O-rings on the line fittings and lightly coat them with the correct refrigerant oil. Use O-rings designed specifically for A/C system applications. After installation, have the system evacuated, recharged, and leak tested by the shop that initially discharged it.
