    The weatherstripping should not come into contact with contaminants such as gasoline or oil, and mineral or silicone lubricant should be applied periodically to prolong the life of they weatherstripping by reducing abrasion, wear and cracking. They are sealed to the doors by adhesive above the vehicle belt line and by clips below the line. To take it off, the bottom is fitted with a small black plastic toggle-flip this and then detach the strip by pulling, starting at the edge of the door and working your way around. Remove any leftover adhesive, or weatherstripping from the channel which may hinder the installation of the remaining weatherstripping. At last, it is necessary to put on the upper part of the door some thin layer of an appropriate adhesive and then insert the new weatherstripping until each of the clips is fastened.
