Remove the center hanger for the exhaust system near the driveshaft center support bearing and disconnect the rear exhaust hangers. Lower and support the exhaust system using jackstands or wire, ensuring there is at least 10 inches of clearance below the vehicle. Drain the differential fluid to prevent spilling. Support the rear differential with a floor jack or similar tool. Use chalk or a scribe to mark the relationship of the driveshaft to the differential pinion yoke and the flange at the transfer case. Disconnect the rear driveshaft rubber coupler from the rear axle flange and support the rear of the driveshaft. Disconnect the electronic clutch control module electrical connector. Use a prybar or similar tool to partially dislodge the driveaxles from the rear differential housing. Remove the three rear differential-to-crossmember mounting bolts. Lower the rear differential partially and remove the driveaxles from the housing. Carefully lower and remove the differential from the vehicle. During installation, ensure all mounting fasteners are installed before tightening any of them. Finally, tighten all fasteners.
