The receiver-drier should be replaced whenever the condenser is replaced. For removal, first, have the system discharged. Then, disconnect the negative battery cable from the ground stud on the left shock tower. Remove the radiator grille. Remove the upper radiator support crossmember. Using the appropriate quick-connect coupling tools, disconnect and cap the air conditioning lines at the condenser. Remove the radiator fan module mounts. Remove the condenser line support bracket. Remove the condenser mounting bolts. Finally, remove the condenser from the vehicle. For installation, it is the reverse of removal. If a new condenser is being installed, add one ounce of refrigerant oil to it before installation. Finally, take the vehicle back to the shop that discharged it. Have the system evacuated, recharged, and leak tested.
